Griffon Forest in Flaxton is a must for a romantic get away.
Having stayed there twice now I'm already looking forward to our third stay.
This place does hold good memories for me as on our first visit my now husband proposed, and our second stay was our honeymoon.
On each visit we stayed in a 2 birth lodge, also known as Poaches Lodge. The Lodge is open plan with king size 4 poster bed and 6 foot jacuzzi which is open plan in the bedroom. A great wow factor when you 1st walk in. It has all mod cons of tv, dvd, washing machine, & dish washer.
Outside is a BBQ area, sun loungers & hot-tub with enough privacy to sit together and enjoy a glass of wine - which along with chocolates is complimentary on arrival.
The birds and squirals are very friendly so buy some nuts from reception as you arrive.
We found it took us a full day to settle into the relaxed way of living, but soon enjoyed not caring what time it was, and just pleased our selves with no interuption to privacy.
Nearby and in walking distance is the Tykes restaurant which we booked into on 2 nights of our stay. To be honest though, even though the food is delicious, we enjoyed using the BBQ, listening to the wildlife and using the hot tub as much as possible.
