About the Area

A brief description of Suffolk and what you can expect to experience in the area of your park.

Suffolk is a sumptuous mixture of seaside entertainment, exposed and breathtaking coastline, open countryside dotted with pretty towns and villages and the leisurely activity of the Suffolk Broads. Whether you are at rest in your holiday park or lodge or out exploring this is a truly relaxing holiday destination.

Classic Lowestoft is a traditional seaside resort with top-class sandy beaches. Games, amusements, good eating and the Pleasurewood Hills adventure park bring bags of family entertainment. Take time out for a peaceful day and head to Aldeburgh. Admire the nature reserve, visit the museum, picnic on the beaches or treat yourselves to classic fish and chips at sunset. Southwold is also a more genteel resort, with a recently restored and impressive pier and the chance to book a boat trip.

The Broads are peaceful networks of rivers and canals, with lakes and reservoirs offering watersports such as sailing, canoeing and fishing. A riverside walk or a canal-side pub lunch is an ideal way to diffuse the over-excitement of the seaside. If your budget permits, a day-trip on a boat is the ultimate tranquil holiday experience.

It’s easy to see why the countryside around Suffolk inspired the artist John Constable. Enjoy miles of cycle paths on gentle hills and scenic footpaths threading between pretty villages and historic towns. Medieval Long Melford is nestled in the valley of the River Stour, a postcard perfect village with quirky antique shops and book markets showing just how much character the county’s towns and villages have to offer. Throughout the county you will find delicious local produce in farm shops, or served up in country pubs.
