About the Area

A brief description of Isle of Anglesey and what you can expect to experience in the area of your park.

A small island, with big landscapes, breathtaking beaches and a character of its own. Although it sounds remote, the Isle of Anglesey lies just off the coast of North Wales, accessible by two short road bridges. The island is a secluded paradise for beach-goers, walkers, nature-lovers and active families and is also within easy reach of the cities and attractions of mainland North Wales – a perfect spot for a holiday park or lodge.

Over 100 miles of coastline are classed as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for good reason. From the colourful and quaint atmosphere of the seaside town of Beaumaris, to the dramatic Red Dwarf Bay and its surrounding coastal paths, the variety is endless.

There are a great number of excellent beaches on Anglesey for family picnics, sunbathing and swimming in the summer months or exhilarating scenic walking in winter. Like Red Dwarf Bay, Cemaes, Benllech and Llanddwyn offer large spreads of sandy beach. Cable Bay, Porth Cwyfan and Porth Swtan are delightful and more intimate coves – perfect for peaceful birdwatching but also popular for surfing.

Towns and villages are also worth exploring, particularly the port of Holyhead with its array of activities – golf, fishing, sailing and even affordable ferry trips to Dublin are on offer. Beaumaris also has watersports facilities, excellent pubs and an enchanting Childhood Museum, whilst Rhosneigr is a friendly village surrounded by extensive beaches, a lively community of golf, sailing and watersports all against wonderful views of Snowdonia on the mainland.
