About the Area

A brief description of Denbighshire and what you can expect to experience in the area of your park.

A beautiful county in North Wales, nestled between Conwy and Flintshire and sharing the northern coastline, Denbighshire has the ideal combination of delightful seaside resorts, stunning coastal paths and viewpoints, a wide variety of family attractions throughout the county and dramatic mountainous ranges to appeal to walkers, mountain bikers and climbers.

The resorts of Prestatyn and Rhyl are the ideal location for a holiday park break. Lively resorts with great beaches and bags of entertainment including fun fairs, swimming centres and plenty of indoor attractions for rainy days. The sand dunes at Prestatyn should not be missed, and the Sealife Centre at Rhyl is a great day out for all ages. Nearby Bodelwyddan Castle is an impressive historic building open to the public and with fantastic gardens and breathtaking views. Nature trails, woodland walks and orienteering courses mean this is a worthwhile excursion for all ages.

Inland, Denbighshire is equally inspiring. There are numerous historical attractions such as Denbigh Castle, Llangollen Steam Railway and Llangollen Motor Museum. Short canal trips from Llangollen are also great fun, taking in spectacular scenery and traversing the amazing Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. Llangollen has been a popular town since Victorian times, pleasantly situated on the River Dee which offers canoeing, rafting and more. There is a golf course, attractive castle and plenty of shops and restaurants, and if you visit in July you might catch the International Musical Eisteddfod which takes place in the town each year.

For hikers, mountain bikers and adventurers the beautiful ranges of the Clwydian Mountains, the Berwyn range to the south and the Hiraethog Moors are rich with picturesque routes and challenging expeditions. The Vale of Clwyd runs through the county with numerous footpaths through hills, valleys and woodland.
