Stretching to the southernmost tip of Britain, the ‘Lizard Peninsula’ forms the focal point of South Cornwall. This rural, eclectic, breathtaking and traditional area comprises some of the most unique viewpoints in the UK and offers miles of untouched, open and wooded countryside leading to exciting coastline, glorious beaches, picturesque fishing towns and plenty of must-see attractions. The large borough of Penzance holds pirate legend, smugglers’ tales, quaint fishing villages, enchanting coves and of fun attractions, not to mention award-winning beaches for sunseekers and surfers. Nearby Land’s End is the pinnacle of a southern exploration, with a colourful resort and miles of dramatic coastal walks in the area.

Whitsand Bay has been described as one of the top 3 beaches in Cornwall, with its untouched beauty, spacious sands and characterful rocky coves. It also remains surprisingly uncrowded due to its size. Nearby Portwrinkle is formed of two sand and shingle beaches where kids will love playing in the rock pools.

Falmouth is a famous port town, with the world’s deepest natural harbour. Numerous sea voyages start and finish at this point creating much excitement amongst yachting enthusiasts. Its surrounding beaches start at the impressive Pendennis Castle and include Tunnel Beach, Swanpool and Maenporth Beach. All ages will enjoy the National Maritime Museum as an intriguing day out. Truro is the most southerly city in Britain, with an imposing cathedral and the enthralling Lemon Quay Piazza. The city is easily accessible and you can fill several full days with seaside fun, cultural visits, quirky shopping and excellent bars and restaurants.
