Conwy has a style of its own with the impressive Conwy Castle and more miles of ever-changing coastline, before passing through picturesque Betws-y-Coed as you head up into Snowdonia and the gorgeous Conwy Valley. The county of Gwynedd includes most of spectacular Snowdonia – where Snowdon, the highest mountain in England and Wales draws hikers and climbers from all over the world. Flintshire offers gentler countryside trails and wildlife-filled sand dunes, with abundant agriculture and leisurely tours by foot, cycle or car. The Isle of Anglesey has some astounding beaches, for sunbathing, swimming and watersports in the summer and wild, windy coastal walks in the winter – not to mention its picture-postcard resort of Beaumaris and some excellent locally produced beef!
