About the Area
A brief description of Conwy and what you can expect to experience on your holiday.
Conwy is situated in North Wales, bordering with Caernarvonshire and Denbighshire and stretching from the Irish Sea coast into a third of the awe-inspiring Snowdonia National Park. With dramatic sea views, dramatic mountainous exploring and a wealth of imposing historical sites, the county has a huge amount to offer visitors of all ages.
The focal point in the county town, also named Conwy, is the famous Conwy Castle – an essential for anyone visiting the area. The town has a wonderful and dramatic seaside location and plenty for all the family to do. Llandudno is another seaside town with a more resorty feel, the pier and promenade, the North Wales Theatre and lots to see and do all in the surroundings of some dramatic coastal paths and mountain views.
Head up inland into Snowdonia and find your way round some of the most beautifully situated towns and villages in North Wales. Betws-y-Coed, in the Conwy Valley is a favourite with walkers and rock climbers exploring the area, and offers several museums and visitor centres as well as restaurants and shops. The surrounding area offers so many exciting walks and adventurous hikes and climbs that outdoor enthusiasts will want to return again and again.
Situated between the Pwllycrochan Woods and the sea, Colwyn Bay is another seaside resort with excellent attractions such as the Welsh Mountain Zoo and the Victoria Pier – which offers amusements, angling and fishing.
