Tropical Cottages Marathon Reviews

I found this place online, saw their own website and some 5 star reviews ( which I now know are clearly false ) and thought I would try it out. I was, so, so disappointed. I have been to the Keys many times and stayed in some old quaint places and some top resorts.

This place is a few feet from the US1 highway and so very noisy , also planes going about 100 feet overhead landing at nearby airport , so very noisy .

The cottages are actually wooden sheds, really small and lay down quite close to each other on dusty gravel. It’s like staying in a shed on a car park. The highest price cottage I booked had its' front door about 3 feet from the Drive in Bank Car Park next door and the Bank's Dumpster was a few feet from the cottage door.

As you would expect, I did not want to stay there and left, finding a great hotel with beach and pool and full facilities at the same price.

WORST OF ALL , I explained my disappointment when I arrived , explained I felt their website was deceptive and Tropical Cottages still insisted on charging the credit card I had given online.

There are wonderful , honest people in the Keys , go find them and stay there , if you believe the other reviews around . Then check in person , just don’t give your card details to them in advance !! So at least if you are as dissapointed as I was you can walk away without having to give them any money.
