Skiing Mayrhofen Reviews

We booked this hotel direct and luckily had the last 2 rooms available in the hotel. Although when we turned up with our reservation im not sure exactly what happened but they weren't expecting us but asked us to unwind in their bar while they sorted a few things out. I didn't know whether this was a good sign or not but they supplied us with a free bottle of champagne for waiting.

Within 20 minutes they came back and showed us to our rooms which was a little relief! The rooms were nicely spacious with clean amenities and a homely feel to the room. The only problem i would say with the room was it was a little too hot and there was no thermostat to turn down the temperature. This hotel is a 4* star and it was. This may sound a little strange but we have stayed in many 4* hotels and they're anything but! The food was very good (although a little pretentious sometimes - trying vanilla ice cream with balsamic vinegar!?) and varied every night and couldn't complain at all about the service or quality of food. The hotel bar was very quiet but that was ice considering there were plenty of bars which were lively only 5 minutes away.

The hotel was conveniently located about 10 minute walk in ski boots to the penken (main) lift but we hired a car and only ever a couple of mins drive to a few other lifts which were empty.
The hotel had 2 indoor pools (however were a little cold) but relaxing after a hard day skiing.

Overall, i would highly rate this hotel as we had a lot of fun here and the hotel staff were very kind and accomadating.
