I should be in a luxury air-conditioned, 5 star hotel room right now but thanks to (S)Wizzair I am stuck in clammy hot Rome and will probably miss the family wedding we had planned to attend in Poland.

Last night, after a long wait at check-in, we discovered our flight had been cancelled, and that this was the second consequetive flight to be cancelled by Wizzair. There was no information on the flight announcement boards, and no company representative present.

I only found out about the cancellation when one of our Polish fellow passengers made a call home, and was helped by the airport staff back through security to the general airport information desk where they gave me the bad news, and it was up to me to pass this on to the rest of the flight.

Eventually, we were told by a member of the airport staff, surrounded by security guards as a near riot was about to break out, that we should collect our baggage and return tomorrow to try to get on the next flight. What are our chances? There will be three times the number of people turning up for the number of seats on the 'plane.

There is no way of contacting Wizzair, all their numbers are constantly engaged and they state that emails take 30 days to answer. Bizarrely, you can still book seats on tonight's flight!!

The airport staff told us of their frustration, that Wizzair kept doing this and they could only sanction them. We were advised to book seats using another airline, but of course we can't afford to do this, and getting refuds/compensation will take too long.

We are the lucky ones; we left the airport to return to our home 30 minutes away, with young mothers and kids in tears behind us. The last we heard as we left was people shouting and trying to organise a sit-in. The airport closes at midnight.

I read on another site that Wizzair had stranded a family in Poland after deciding to stop flights to Ireland with absolutely no warning.

My advice is to NOT USE WIZZAIR UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. You have been warned!
