Stayed at Sol Polenisia in Umag in Istria, Croatia. I believe this country will take over from spain as the next tourist hot spot. The sea was very clean the people very polite and the whole experience fantastic. We stayed for 2 weeks and it was the best 2 weeks that my family ever spent abroad! Croatia offers such a wide range of places to explore spread over 500 islands with fantastic wildlife and beautiful beaches. Its is such a gorgeous country and the coastline and marina's are breathtaking. You can drink the water and the food is quality if you love healthy food aswell as being very cheap to dine out I recommend this country to everyone who wants a relaxing beautiful holiday. Please go to croatia you will love it!! There is lots of activities and its a great place for camping too. Plenty of sensible night life and beautiful music - I name this country my paradise because it is a real beauty and only 3 hours flight away.

Stayed at the Grand Hotel Ideal during the first week of May. The hotel is very impressive and the rooms are of adequate size for two people. The staff are fantastic, very helpful and friendly. The food wasn't five star though and there were some weird combinations ie cauliflower for breakfast! Don't expect bacon and sausage for breakfast either, although the choices otherwise were fine. The kids "buffet" consisted of chips and spag bol every evening. The entertainer in the evening was very poor and there was nothing at all for kids to do. During 7 days there was only 3 nights of entertainment which was Turkish Dancing, break dancing and dancing girls. Fine if you like watching dancing! The Thomas Cook rep was a really nice girl. The centre of Marmaris is a good 25 mins walk away although the dolmus stops outside the hotel. Marmaris itself is excellent and there is loads to do. The Talk of the Town is a must see show, a great night out. We went to Ephesus and on the scuba diving trip, all recommended. Although there were some negatives we had a great time and would go again. Oh and yes the hotel had been refurbished beautifully but some of the steps on the ground floor, especially round the pool and lobby, were lethal and there were quite a few falls during the week and one lady broke her ankle.

We booked a holiday to Gran Canaria in August of this year and paid to stay in the Oasis Duna. It was meant to be a nice 3* family hotel. How wrong that description was. One of the first things we noticed was the lack of fire extinguishers and blankets. While there were a few water cannisters dotted about there seemed to be little regard paid to fire emergencies. The rooms seem to made of cardboard so if you book a downstairs room you will be able to hear every tiny movement from upstairs. The TV cost money, the fridge cost money and the rings on the cooker cost money! Infact pretty much everything apart from breathing was extra. Utterly ridiculous! Staff were generally pretty rude, the pool was strangely salty and the entertainment laid on was laughable.

Just returned from Sugar and Spice cruise. The ship was ocean village 2, and was beautifully clean, and decorated with Christmas decorations. The staff could not do enough for you, and the food was very varied and superb. Some of the Islands capitals were very poor and you got hassle from the locals for taxis, but I would definitely go again!

Never having cruised before we found this Island Village/Thomas Cook holiday excellent. The holiday was actually 2 cruises; "Olives and Ouzo" and "Temples and Tavernas" Mainly around the Greek Islands but also calling at Dubrovnik, Cyprus and Kamaris (for Ephesus - which actually was Greek many years ago) Food was excellent in quality and quantity and ran on the 24 hour buffet system so there were no set times for meals. The ship was very comfortable, the cabins very spacious and the crew very, very helpful and friendly. the timings of arrival and departure were great. Arrival was normally 8 am and departure 6 pm so there was plenty of time ashore and the evenings were spent cruising into the sunsets. Luggage handling was very good as was transport between ship and airport. Plenty of reps at the airport to point out the coaches, well informed on the coach about registering and boarding and once the luggage was given to the driver we didn't see it again until outside the cabin door. At the end of the holiday luggage was collected from outside the cabin and we didn't see it again until on the carousel at the UK airport. Aircraft boarding cards were issued on the ship so at the Greek airport we went straight to the Security Check without having to queue at check-in. My only complaint would be the organisation of going ashore by tender which was a shambles. It was the first cruise of the season but it should really have been better organised. On one occasion we sat in the tender bobbing up and down and bumping the ship for 25 minutes while they decided which other optional excursions should go ashore with us. Optional excursions were (as normal with any tour operator) very expensive and I would advise finding out availability from local tour operators before leaving the UK - local tourism offices are usually very helpful in this respect. With those reservations I would happily recommend the cruises and the cruise line and am even thinking of going again ourselves.

Avoid the Georges Park Complex if at all possible! We were due to stay there for a few weeks at the end of September but after seeing a HUGE cockroach climbing through the toilet bowl we thought better of it!

This was no doubt the best holiday I have ever been on! I only got back 2 weeks ago but i'm dying to go back! The entertainment was fantastic and always garenteed a brilliant night. The entertainment team were hilarious and so friendly. The food was good, however after a while became predictable. The waiters at meal times were very polite and friendly, especially to British. During the day it was quite hard to get a sunbed but there are a number of poolside staff that will easily help you out in exchange for a small tip. The room we stayed in was very nice and cleanliness was at a high standard. The maid was very friendly and made our room every day to a high standard. The hotel itself was well situated in the resort of port el kantoui, only a few minutes in a taxi to the marina and beach. Transport is very cheap via taxi, however it is more expensive at night. Overall I enjoyed my stay at the soviva and would definately consider going back there in the future! Tip to any girls going to the soviva: watch out for the doughnut man! He is very charming and will almost definately try it on with you! His doughnuts are nice though!
