We visited Kefalonia in early october, which was perfect because it was coming into low season but still had excellent weather for the vast majority of the time we were there. It was about 30 for 6 days out of 7 (thunder storm on last day!). Olive Garden Apartments are perched on top of the hill that seperates Lassi from Argostoli and so had excellent views out to sea with the sunsets being particualy breathtaking. It was our first time to Kefalonia and we had read a great deal about its beauty. Suffice to say we werent disapointed and these apartments served us well as a base to explore the island by car (essential - get a jeep!). We had one of the studios on the ground floor. Above us were two bedroom apartments with balconies. The rooms were perfectly adequate for us (a couple), although the bathroom was a touch basic. The kitchen was well equipped with a combi oven and hob if you want to cook for yourselves. We didnt do this very often as Kefalonia has so many places to eat that offer great value for money. The pool was very clean and perfectly situated with great views and loads of sun loungers. We spent every morning taking a dip while the sun heated the air. The bar and eating area is next to the pool and Nick the owner provides enthusiastic Greek-American banter throughout the day. the only real drawback about these apartments is their situation on a steep and winding hill. we had no problem walking up a few times but we are both in our 20s ( i even managed some shopping!). it may be more of a problem for elderly people or those with walking difficulties. having said that, taxis are only 5 euros to get up every time. All in all a great place to stay to explore a beautiful place.

We are a family of five, two adults, an eight year old, a five year old and a two year old. We went for a week to Benalmadine with the idea that we would experience Spain, as it was only our second year going abroad. Little did we know that the hotel we went to was specifically for First Choice customers. The hotel was amazing, The holiday village, and there were about ten swimming pools and play areas, especially for children. They even had rubber tube slides for the older children. There was entertainment in the evenings for the kids and then the whole family. We went all inclusive and the food was amazing, so much variety. All drinks and ice creams were included all day long, which saved us a small fortune with three kids. I would definately recommend it to families that enjoy spending time in the swimming pools. It was a really great holiday.

We stayed at the Honolulu Hotel. All inclusive in Magaluf, Majorca. Our room, was the last room, at the end of a corridor, so we had 2 balconies,. Omg. What a fabulous view, of both beaches. Palma Nova and Magaluf. The Hotel was lovely and clean, food was very good. And Magaluf, although mainly catering for the young uns. We found The Square, which is just behind BCM. Where there where live acts on an outdoor stage every night. The weather was gorgeous as well. All in all we had a fab holiday. Everything was perfect. Majorca is lovely and we would definetly go back there again.

went with my husband and three children everything was wonderful the flight was great ,even the food was good unfortunatley when we arrived at the airport in florida we were informed the agent had booked a car that was too small for us and we had to upgrade to a mpv which cost us another $300 this was upsetting but worth it when we saw the car brilliant more than made up for the extra money wanted to bring it home with us lol arrived at kissimme where we stayed in a wonderful four bed villa pure luxury i didnt want to leave the parks were all fantastic especially animal kingdom and universal studios nightlife was limited with three children in tow but that just ment we got to relax in a different restaurant nearly every night while sipping wine and beer bliss i have never seen my children as happy as on this holiday and would highly recommend it to anyone although i would buy tickets for the parks when you get there as we were told to buy them before and this turned out to be alot more expensive all in all the beat holiday of our lives and i just cant wait to go again

Stayed 2 weeks at this hotel in April / May 2007. Had a fantastic time and would recommend to anyone. The hotel was beautiful, comfortable and clean. The food and drinks were plentiful and above average. The landscaping and 'jungle trail' through the hotel grounds was brilliant. The beach was probably the best in that stretch, although it was a bit too choppy to go in some days (not as calm as in Cancun) Only $5 in a taxi to Play del Carmen, or a 20 minute walk. I yearn to go back to this hotel and hope I will some day soon

My partner and I went to Icmeler with our 2 childeren in July 2008. We had a fantastic 2 weeks as we always do when coming to this resort, there are so many differnt places to choses from for drinks and food and the beach is beautiful. The people are so friendly and really make you feel welcome. This year we stayed at the Ozlem apartments and this made our holiday even lovlier than usual. The rooms are clean and the staff are so helpful and were wonderful with the children. They were always happy to play a game of pool even with our 4 year old whose cue skills leave a little to be desired! The pool and bar area are pretty and always filled with friendly faces and the retaurant area serves up some lovley meals. It is open all day and we often ate our breakfast or lunch there. We also enjoyed their 'Turkish night' as the food was gorgeous and entertainment better than many we have seen. We will be back to Icmeler next year as we love it and will definately be in touch with Ozlem for our accommodation.

The most breathtaking minute of our holiday was on a day trip sailing into the harbour of Bonafacio in Corsica. With white cliffs steeped on both sides and in stark contrast to the blue Mediterranean waters I was moved to tears. We were on a day trip from Sardinia and nothing had prepared me for this beauty. The cliffs seemed to deaden any noise and we floated in silence, time stood still. Slowly the bay gave up her secrets, stonewashed houses peeped over the cliff tops onto idyllic Corsican bars, restaurants and boutiques below. The harbour itself was filled with all kinds of craft, from millionaire yachts to small fishing boats and the sea was alive with all manner of fish jumping to greet us. Finally we reached the shore, a minute that had seemed like an hour and would stay with me forever. Corsica is firmly on our list for future visits.

We booked a package holiday with first choice to kefalonia (see my other reviews) and didnt book a car in advance as we wanted to see what the transport was like. As soon as we got there we came to realise that a car is ESSENTIAL on Kefalonia if you are going to really enjoy the beauty of this island. We took advantage of the fact first choice were doing a discount because it had just come into low season (october) and were offering a free day\'s hire. Feeling brash we plumped for the 4 by 4 Suzuki Jimny, a small jeep with enough power to navigate some fairly hair roads round the island. Ours had a soft top but some did come with aircon. Id recommend the softtop for cruising around in style! The running was fine and petrol is very cheap compared to the UK so fill up and go. Absolutely no problems with the hire, Pefanos are recommended by first choice and can be found at the bottom of the hill in Lassi, along the beachfront.

Antisamos beach is on the north eastern side of Kefalonia and is one of the most stunning places to visit on this stunning island. Flanked by two tree covered mountains and expanding into a pebble based beach, the water is a perfect turquoise colour and is perfectly clear. We were based in Lassi on the west side of the island so we used our hire car to get over there. It took around an hour to arrive via some stunning mountain roads. The beach warden actually encourages the fish to swim near bathers (apparently) so its a great place to do some snorkling. We went in October and the temperature was around 30 degrees. Sunloungers were 6 euros each with a small catering outlet at both ends of the beach. Behind the beach sits a nice restuarant and some small toilets. I can imagine in high season it can be a bit nasty in there...
