When we went to benidorm as a group in january the main beach at benidorm was pretty dirty. While some parts had leftover beer cans and drinks containers others had smaller items of rubbish, although there was a good effort to get some of this cleared up by the hotel staff nearby their patches. One of my friends cut themselves on a bit of glass which obviously had been broken on a night out at the bar next to the beach. Areas at the front of the beach near the sea were excellent, id recommend sandals or footwear to get there though.

The Central Hotel in Paris was very dissapointing for us having expected a romantic holiday for two in Paris. We stayed on the 3rd floor and were expecting a nice, clean and comfortable room to begin our exploration of the surrounding area. What we got was a dark and dingy, 70's style accommodation that had damp in the walls and rust on all the taps. The carpets were really worn aswell as all the doors and cupboards. While we werent expecting gold taps we were expecting at least a level of respectability....after all this was meant to be a 5 Star! The shower cubicle was filthy and we eventually checked out to find a more suitable place to stay. Avoid this hotel, or at least the dreaded 3rd floor!

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend at the end of February, the hotel is 5* very comfortable and the staff are pleasant and helpful. We used the spa facility which is small but very good. We enjoyed walking around Chester and there are lots of unusual shops to browse through. As it was a special celebration we were prepared to spend extra for a good hotel. Our one complaint was with the company we made the booking through - ebookers, they quoted a price on line and appeared to be cheaper than others but we discovered when paying at the hotel that they had not added VAT to the price they quoted, as it was an expensive weekend this added a considerable amount to our bill . Because of this they were in fact much more expensive than other companies for the same hotel. The other quotes initially appeared to be more expensive but were not as they already included the vat and in the end we would have been better to use an alternative booking company. I have used ebookers regularly in the past and never had this experience, VAT was always included and the price they quoted was always what we paid. However I was disappointed and annoyed by this hidden charge and will not be using ebookers in future so they have just lost a regular customer.
