The Radisson in Dubai is rated highly and indeed most Radisson hotels around the world are generally very good. However... The room WE stayed in at the Radisson SAS in Dubai had a few minor problems which may annoy some people or not. FIrstly the pool was in shade most of the day because of the high rise buildings nearby. This meant that it was pretty cold for lounging around! Secondly the water supply in the shower was a bit hit and miss, sometimes extremely hot and other times very cold. The bar was nice and lively but did go on quite late into the night and this was audible from our room. All in all, a little annoying...

I recently stayed with my wife in an Algarve Hotel called Quinta Jacintina. It was superb, an amazing Boutique hotel in Almancil. The staff were simply first class, they could not do enough for me. I had Spa treatments, fantastic food, total relaxation, they even arranged a few rounds of golf for me. The best bit was the way i could totally relax in the amazing calm atmosphere that they have managed to create. I honestly can not say enough about this place, if you are ever visiting the Algarve, this hotel is a must try it.

The las marinas club resort was horrid! We stayed on the ground floor and has some of our valuables stolen even though we had a safe. Not sure if it was the staff but we have our suspicions. Our windows would not stay shut securely and this was the same for all our rooms (we had 4). Entertainment here in the evening was very poor and because the hotel is a bit out of town we had to spend a lot of money on transport to seek alternative ways to enjoy ourselves. Food was not bad, although nothing special for what is supposed to be a 4 star hotel. We were disappointed but overall the weather was good so we grinned and beared it. I recommend looking around.
