This is such a cool youth hostel. I stayed there when travelling with a friend and we really enjoyed the chillout area downstairs, which was luckily open to my brother and his friends who were also travelling and came to meet us. The staff are really friendly and the location is just perfect for an easy stay. This place is popular though so I'd advise booking as early as you can.

We only stayed for 2 nights and it was our first experience of 'hostel' type accommodation. We decided to try it as our daughter is backpacking around Australia and using similar accommodation. We were pleasantly surprised as it had everything that we needed for our short break. It was in a good postion for walking easily to the centre of Liverpool. The manager was very friendly and showed us several good places on the map that we MUST visit (we were interested in the art galleries). The Enormous Anglican church was spectacular and I'm sure you will be impressed if you visit it. The private twin bedroom was okay (a bit on the small side) the shared showers and shared toilets were clean and modern. The lounge area was very big and the many couches and easy chairs could seat lots of people. There was also internet access, board games, and a pool table in another lounge area. There was also a garden area with canopy shade and lots of tables to sit and chat or play cards etc. People also had washing drying on the lines and there was a big free carpark. The breakfast was adequate with eat as much as want toast, jam or marmalade and cornflakes, tea and coffee. There was enough seating and tables for everyone when we were there. The big modern kitchen would have been lovely for us if we weren't on a busy 2 day schedule to do and see everything.

I went to a test match in Nottingham. This hotel said it was a stones throw from the ground....it couldn't have been any closer. The food was great, the accomodation great. Being that close to the ground, a must for any cricket fan. It's also really near the Nottingham Forest ground!!!

We spent three nights at Rick Stein's Middle Street Cafe in Padstow. Even the smallest room was beautifully furnished with tea and coffee making facilities, bathroom goodies, bathrobes, flat screen TV, magazines. It was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly.
